So many customers have concerns about the environment today that you can increase your sales when you let companies know that your business is environmentally friendly. Going green is something that you and your employees can do with little fuss and without any frustrations or hassles. You can do something big like launch a program that rewards employees for carpooling, riding their bikes to work or starting compost piles at home. Other ideas are a little on the simpler side and include things you can do around the office.
Implement a Recycling Program
Starting a recycling program at work is one of the easiest ways to protect the environment. Contact the company that picks up your trash to request a recycling bin. You can then set out smaller bins around the office with signs that let workers know what trash to place inside each one. Most offices will benefit from bins dedicated to metal, plastic and paper. This lets your office recycle all the old aluminum soda cans and water bottles that employees drink from as well as their old notes.
Use Recycled Products
In addition to launching a recycling program, you can take steps to only use recycled products around the office. Many companies make pencils from the wood scrapes left behind after making furniture and other projects. You can also find recycled paper in most stores, and this paper comes in different sizes as well as colors. Some companies even make recycled printing paper. If you use wiping rags to keep computer screens clean and for cleaning up after work, you can buy rags made from recycled cloth. These rags come in different styles and sizes, including larger cloths for washing cars and soft cloths that won’t scratch the screens on electronic devices.
Reuse As Much As Possible
Even if you don’t have the space or the time to implement a recycling program, you can still take steps to reuse as many items as possible. Instead of throwing away paper after a meeting or presentation, flip the pages over to keep track of notes on the back. If you use cleaning supplies, you can often refill the bottles with new supplies too. You’ll also find it helpful to bring in a water cooler and/or a traditional coffee maker. Encourage workers to reuse their mugs and glasses every day. With these methods, you can quickly make your office more environment friendly.
